No pictures of the earliest immigrant generation of this family are known to exist. This page includes the earliest pictures I have so you can get an idea what they looked like. (Those in the earliest generation all lived into the age of photography, so someone's probably got a picture somewhere; if you have anything that could be added to this page, please contact me). Below are pictures of Casper and Mary Dute, the generation after that:
Next are two cousins of Casper Dute. On the left is George Michael Dellefield and what must be his second wife Anna Margarethe Schmitkons. He was the son of Casper's aunt Catherine Elizabeth Dute Dellefield. On the right is Adam Heussner (1821-1893) and wife Elizabeth Hasenpflug Heussner (1827-1900), who was the daughter of Casper's aunt Anna Martha Dute as well as being Valerie's great-grandmother.
Two more pictures: on the left is what may be George Dute the immigrant b. 1799. It came from Ray Dute who originally thought it was Casper, but it doesn't look that much like the other pictures of Casper, and Ray found "about 1875" on the back, which is the year George died. On the right is George Dute of Russia Twp., 1844-1899. His relationship to our clan is not known, but Cousin Valerie says he looks like a Dute. It came out of the Lorain County Atlas of 1896.
Lastly, my niece Patricia Natalie Griswold. Doesn't she look like a Dute?
