Hi Fred, just got back again from the archive. Found some additions to what I
sent last time. However haven't been successful with finding the origin of
the Dute family. They just appear in Rockensüss in the 1760's and none of the
information available suppiles a hint as to where they orginally came from.

I checked the Immenhausen/Holzhausen records. There were a number of DUTHE
families in the latter. But none that links to the Rockensüss/Asmushausen
families. I didn't spend to much time on them. Just took a glance. Perhaps
we'll find a connection at some time and then knowing that there was a family
of that name in Holzhausen may come in handy.

I also haven't been successful in linking the Henrich Dute family of
Asmushausen with that of Rockensüss. Again the information isn't sufficient
enough to establish a link.

The only link we have to Rockensüss so far is the godfather of Johannes DUTE
(b.3/21/1785), Johannes DUTE of Rockensüss. He should be a relative, but at
this point there is no telling how he connects.

Perhaps the information I found today will help (a little).

Please add:

more children of Johann Adam DUTE/Anna Christina LANDAU

1) Johannes (this may be the godfather mentioned above)
    bapt. 3/30/1761 Rockensüss
    no godfather given
    conf. 1775 Rockensüss
2) Barbara Elisabeth
    bapt. 7/1/1763 Rockensüss
gp. wife of Johann Henrich GEORGE, Nentershausen
    conf. 1777
3) Catharina Elisabeth
    bapt. 7/21/1765 Rockensüss
    gp. Cath. El. EYRICH
    bur. 7/28/1768 Rockensüss
4) Johannes
    bapt. 7/20/1767 Rockensüss
    gp. Johannes LANDAU
    conf. ?
?) Anna Barbara
    bur. 12/8/1762 Rockensüss (age 5y)
?) Johann Merten
    bur. 7/30/1768 Rockensüss (age 2y)

no birth/baptism entries for the above, Perhaps Joh. Merten is indentical
with Johannes (b.1767)

All other children of this couple were confirmed except Johann Jacob (b.1779).

-------------Johannes DUTE, b. 3/21/1785 was an illegitimate child. Still,
wasn't able to locate a marriage entry for the parents

Anna Martha, b. 4/5/1798 did indeed marry Henrich HASSENPFLUG; marriage was
6/9/1822. I checked her death entry 1883 and it is crossed out. Parents of
Henrich HASSENPFLUG are given as Michael H. and Anna El. BERGER(?!)

Also copied a page from Oscar HÜTTEROTH's "Pfarrergeschichte-Klasse Treysa",
which lists all the parishes with their pastors. The page I got for you
contains info on Heinrich GLEIM.

He was born in Wasenberg on July 28, 1804. Parents were Anton GLEIM and Anna
Catharina HÖLLER. Anton was teacher in Wasenberg.

Henrich studied in Marburg (just like me:) and was pastor in Sachsenhausen
from 1836-39. He married Ernestine Friederike Caroline Luise FROELICH of
Ernsthausen.

They had one son, Karl Georg, who later became pastor in Lingelbach and
eventually climbed high in the church hierarchy.

Henrich died on March 2, 1838 in Sachsenhausen.

Sorry, that I wasn't able to find out more about the origin of Henrich DUTE.
I probably won't have time this week anymore. But I sure would like to pursue
this line at the end of June, when I'm on summer vacation. Perhaps I'll have
time to do something before that, can't promise.
